Curse Of The Witch is a compact action-platformer for the Sega Mega Drive that gradually shifts genres as it progresses, eventually turning into a shooter during its final stages. The game follows a simple retro-inspired structure focused on combat, enemy avoidance, and straightforward level progression.
At first glance the project may seem rough around the edges, with messy-looking sprites and fairly minimal presentation, but the core gameplay mechanics are surprisingly solid. Movement and combat feel responsive, and the pacing keeps the short adventure engaging throughout its brief runtime. Despite its small scope and amateur appearance, the game manages to leave a more positive impression than expected.
