Bubble Gum Toad is a small arcade puzzle-platformer originally created for Global Game Jam 2025 and later rebuilt from scratch for the Sega Mega Drive. Instead of traditional jumping, the player moves through levels using bubble gum mechanics, inflating bubbles to navigate obstacles, collect coins, and reach the exit.
The core mechanic revolves around balancing movement and risk: blowing too much air causes the bubble to burst, forcing careful positioning and timing. The Mega Drive version expands on the original jam release with additional levels and more bubble gum interactions, though the overall scope remains very small. With only a handful of stages, the game feels more like a polished prototype than a fully developed release, despite its strong visual style and fitting soundtrack.
