Tomahawk 777 MD

Tomahawk 777 MD is a simple arcade shooter for the Sega Mega Drive inspired by the obscure 1980 Data East arcade title Tomahawk 777. Structurally, the game follows the classic formula established by shooters like Galaga, with waves of enemies attacking from above while the player avoids incoming projectiles and dive attacks.

Its main distinguishing feature is movement freedom: unlike many arcade shooters of that era, the submarine can move not only horizontally but also vertically depending on the remaining water level. When enemies hit the seabed, the water gradually drains, limiting movement space and adding light resource management to the gameplay. While the concept is mildly amusing, the overall experience remains extremely simple and feels more like a small retro experiment than a substantial modern release
