L’Abbaye des Morts is an indie platformer originally created by Locomalito and later ported to the Sega Mega Drive. Set in 13th-century France, the game follows a Cathar monk fleeing persecution by the Catholic Church. Taking refuge in a mysterious abandoned abbey, he uncovers dark secrets and faces supernatural dangers.
The game features retro-style graphics inspired by ZX Spectrum aesthetics, simple yet challenging gameplay, and an atmospheric chiptune soundtrack. The Mega Drive port retains the charm of the original while leveraging the console’s unique capabilities, making it a compelling experience for fans of retro gaming and indie titles alike.
