Oh Mummy Genesis

Oh Mummy Genesis is a modern remake of the 1984 Amstrad CPC classic Oh Mummy, developed for the Sega Mega Drive by 1985 Alternativo and released in 2012. It preserves the arcade-style charm of the original while updating the visuals, music, and interface for 16-bit hardware. Despite its simple concept, the game was officially released in boxed form with retro-style packaging, appealing to collectors and nostalgic players alike.

The gameplay is based on a maze-runner formula: players move around rectangular tombs, revealing items and avoiding mummies by tracing outlines around floor tiles. Once all key items are uncovered, an exit appears. Players must avoid contact with enemies, manage power-ups, and progress through increasingly difficult levels. While mechanics are straightforward, the tension builds fast as the mummies become more aggressive.
