DaemonClaw: Origins of Nnar

DaemonClaw: Origins of Nnar is a 2025 action-platformer developed by BitBeamCannon and published on the Sega Mega Drive by Neofid Studios, the team behind Demons of Asteborg and Astebros. While originally created as a multi-platform game, the Mega Drive port is notable for adding an exclusive second playable character: Gareth, the hero of Demons of Asteborg. Visually and musically, it delivers a polished experience that feels on par with the best 16-bit releases of the ’90s.

Gameplay, however, is more uneven. Each stage is relatively short, often with only a handful of enemies, and in some cases you can reach the boss within a minute. Most bosses are straightforward and can be beaten quickly, with only the final fight demanding pattern memorization. The protagonist’s attack mechanics are varied and satisfying, but power-ups are limited to health refills and damage boosts. Replay value exists thanks to the dual characters, each with their own ending.
