Hayato’s Journey is a homebrew action-platformer developed by Master Linkuei for the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis. Released in 2024, it’s an unofficial spiritual successor to the 1988 Master System classic, Kenseiden. Notably, it’s the first full Mega Drive game powered by the Scorpion Engine.
In the game, players take on the role of Hayato, the last descendant of the Dragon family, on a quest to defeat the evil warlock Yonensai. Armed with the Sword of the Dragon King, Hayato traverses various levels filled with enemies and challenges, aiming to rescue his beloved Sakura and avenge his master.
