Bomb on Basic City is a homebrew game for the Sega Mega Drive, inspired by the Bomb on Pixel City series. The player pilots a plane in a 2D side-scrolling view across ten zones, dropping bombs on enemy buildings while avoiding civilian structures and enemy fire. The plane moves continuously, wrapping around the screen, and with each pass, it flies lower, increasing the challenge of avoiding anti-air fire and timing bomb drops accurately.
The game was later expanded with Bomb on Basic City: Special Edition, which added new features such as enhanced graphics, additional levels, and improved sound effects. In 2019, a physical edition of the Special Edition was released by Second Dimension, making it a collector’s item for retro gaming enthusiasts.
In 2021, a new version titled Bomb on BASIC City: 2021 Edition was released, offering refined gameplay and updated visuals.
