Barbarian is a 1987 action-platformer originally developed by Psygnosis for the Atari ST, and in 2019, it was ported to the Sega Mega Drive by the Z-Team. While the port is technically faithful to the original, the game shows its age. Players navigate repetitive levels filled with clunky combat. The controls are stiff, making precise movement and attacks more difficult than they should be. Despite the optimization for Sega hardware, the visuals and gameplay mechanics feel dated and may struggle to hold the attention of modern audiences.
There was no official physical release of the game, but the Z-Team sent copies to those who supported their work on Patreon.
