Mighty Mighty Missile!

Mighty Mighty Missile! is an unlicensed port-style clone of ChuChu Rocket! (Dreamcast, Game Boy Advance), effectively recreating its core rules, presentation approach, and stage structure for Sega hardware. Released in 2004, it’s widely regarded as one of the earliest aftermarket titles for the Sega Mega Drive. The game was made by Fonzie — later known for projects like Pier Solar and Paprium.

Development originally targeted the Sega CD with CD-quality audio, but the Mega Drive version shipped completely silent — no music and no sound effects. The developer later explained that sound tooling limitations at the time pushed him toward a separate Mega CD release under a different name. As a result, while the gameplay loop works, the Mega Drive build feels noticeably stripped-down in overall impact.
